TREAT YOUR ACNE THE NATURAL WAY

How many of you have gone to bed with clear skin only to wake up in the morning to a huge zit greeting you as you take your first look in the mirror? I think we can all agree that it happens even to the best of us!

These pesky little buggers don’t need to have you applying thick cover up or altering your hairstyle to hide certain parts of your face. Instead, give these home remedies a try to get those pimples disappearing as fast as they came.

JUICE FROM A LEMON

This home remedy should only be used on skin that is unbroken (never use on open skin because not only will the juice burn when it hits, but it could also lead to scarring). Lemon juice has many antibacterial properties that will help rid the skin of bacteria that typically causes acne. The lemon juice will go to work shrinking pores, tightening the skin, and drying out your pimples. Lemon juice is also used as a skin lightener so it should be avoided if you have dark skin. Simple squeeze some lemon juice into a bowl and dip a Q-tip into it. Then lightly apply it to any acne spots. Let the lemon juice sit on the pimple for about 5 minutes, then rinse off. Can be applied two times per day.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

You may have heard that apple cider vinegar is a superstar when it comes to home remedies. Google “apple cider vinegar beauty uses” and you’ll be faced with a plethora of results showing you how to use it from your head to your toes, literally! For this reason, it’s no wonder that it can work miracles on your acne too. The vinegar can be soaked on a cotton ball and placed directly onto pimples. The vinegar works in similar ways to the lemon juice so make sure to avoid it if you have any open skin areas.

LAVENDER OIL

We all know about the essential oil craze that’s going on right now, but you really should give lavender essential oil a try when treating acne breakouts. Not only does it smell amazing, but when applied directly to pimples it will shrink them, reduce redness, and also diminish irritation. If you want to ease the stress pimples can cause, add a few drops to a warm bath or to your diffuser. The heavenly scent will have your tension fading fast!
