THINGS YOU CAN DO TODAY TO BOOST FACEBOOK ENGAGEMENT

Ask questions

Sometimes one of the easiest ways to get responses on your posts is by asking questions. People like to know that their opinion counts and that their voice is being heard. Posing fill-in-the-blank sentences and asking your follower’s questions are some of the easiest ways to boost engagement. Make sure you respond or “like” their responses so they know you cared about what they had to say.

Show off your personality

Don’t keep things real stiff on your page – after all it is a social media page! Let your personality and that of your business shine through in all of your posts. It will make your business seem genuine and relatable.

Give followers a behind-the-scenes look

Remember, every post should not be promoting your products. People will get sick of it and won’t engage if they always feel that you are only after a sale (worse case, they get so turned off they unfollow your page). One way around this is by showing them a behind-the-scenes look at your business or products. Have pics of your products being made? Show them! Do you run a salon? This is the perfect time to show all of the full chairs you have or someone’s “before” picture. It’s a great way to promote your business without someone feeling like they are being sold something.

Post video and pictures

Facebook statistics show that people are visual creatures and respond best to video and pictures so post captivating ones as often as you can. They are a great way to tell a story in a moment’s time and they get a lot of exposure in newsfeeds. Remember the saying: a picture is worth a thousand words. That sure rings true on Facebook.

Be specific and simple with your posts

Your followers don’t want to read a novel on their timeline. They’ll pass right over your post if it’s too long. Make sure to keep posts simple and give followers a specific reason to click or engage on your post.

Share content

Your followers want to come to your page for information that is relevant to the problem they are using your business to solve. Sharing content from other pages is great, as is sharing content that other follower’s shared about your business. Did someone reach out to you and rave about how your business or product helped solve a problem they had? Did someone give you an outstanding review? Share that news with others!

Remember, post a variety of content and have fun!

Rotate the type of things you post and keep it fun! Post a funny GIF that your followers will relate to. Share a corny joke that speaks to the trouble your customers face before they found your product. Post useful information that will help them see a new way to use your product. Your posts won’t be a ball of laughter each time, but keeping them light occasionally will help boost engagement and will set your future posts up for success and higher reach.
