Wedding season is upon us! The summer months bring in lots of business to salons as this is the time of the year when the most weddings happen. Not only does the bride need look her best on her special day, but so does the Mother-of-the-Bride, Mother-of-the-Groom, countless bridesmaids, flower girls, etc. This is prime time for your business and with some great summer marketing ideas under your belt, you’ll be ready to crank up the revenue during these hot summer months!
Post Your Wedding-Inspired Looks
Now is the time to gather up all of your client photos that showcase hair that was done for a wedding or even some that could be wedding hair (whether it be for the bride herself or the bridal party). Showcase these pictures on your social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words so choose wisely but share a lot of looks.
Offer a Discounted Trial Day
Most brides prefer to come in a couple of weeks prior to the wedding to do a test run before the big day. This way they can make sure you are both on the same page and that she will get the look she is after. When she books her actual wedding day hair appointment, feel free to extend a discount should she want to do a trial prior to the wedding day.
Run Package Specials
Chances are your bride will also be looking for a mani, pedi, makeup, and possibly waxing services prior to and the day of the wedding. Now is your time to upsell! Talk to your salon coworkers and see if they want to combine efforts and run package specials. This could bring in big business for all of you!
Brides are going to need florists and other services for their wedding. Why not ask your local florist to see if they will provide a free arrangement each week to put on your reception desk with a shout out to their business? In return, see if you can market your services to brides shopping their floral shop? It could be a win-win relationship.
Don’t Forget About the Groom
While the attention is largely turned to the bride, we cannot forget about the groom! It’s almost guaranteed that the bride wants the groom to be looking his best on the wedding day. Why not offer a grooming package for the husband-to-be that could be booked shortly before the wedding?
Offer Some Free Samples
The bride and groom are likely staying at a hotel the night of the wedding or will be venturing off on a honeymoon shortly after. As your bride is leaving your salon, give her a little gift bag that includes some samples of hair care products that she can easily stash away for use on her honeymoon or overnight stay. You could always toss in a little note congratulating the newlyweds for a nice added touch.
Brides shell out tons of money to make sure that their big day is nothing less than perfect so make sure to have your ducks in a row so that you are ready to accommodate any requests they may have.
