Skin Tips for Women Over 50
When you are over 50, there are a few things you need to do differently to care for your skin. Below is a little run-down of things you should do to keep your skin looking its best.
Wear Sunscreen Daily. If there was only one thing you chose to implement after reading this, it should be to wear sunscreen every day! Sun damage is the leading cause of brown spots, wrinkles, and skin cancer. Take a moment to apply an SPF of 30 or greater in the morning and then reapply every few hours.
Use the Right Cleansers and Moisturizers. Make sure you are using the right cleansers and moisturizers for your skin type. Someone with oily skin may need different skin care products than say someone with dry skin.
Treat Dry Skin Daily. It’s important to recognize dry skin and take steps every day to avoid things that make dry skin worse. Don’t use hot water, as hot water dries your skin. Don’t use a drying bar soap in the shower; instead use a creamy body wash that’s hydrating. Apply moisturizer right after getting out of the shower.
Exfoliate. Exfoliation is key to keep your skin glowing. It will remove the top layer of dead skin, revealing your healthy, glowing skin that was lying underneath. Make sure to exfoliate once a week.
