Revitalize Those Curls with a Clay Mask!
You have probably heard of people using a clay mask for their face, but have you heard of people using it on their hair? When we think of clay, we might think it would be too drying for our hair but actually, clay masks can be super beneficial. If you tend to have an oily scalp, it helps rid you of that problem. Curls need some more life and bounce? The clay mask will help with that too!
Here’s how you make one:
Ingredients:
½ cup bentonite clay
8 oz. water
2 tablespoons jojoba, olive, or argan oil
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix all ingredients until a puree is formed. You may swap out water for aloe vera juice (which is high in moisturizing humectants) for additional conditioning. You may also add in a squeeze of honey if you are looking for extra softness.
- Apply the mask to damp hair, working from roots to ends. Let it sit for 5 minutes. If it starts to dry out, use a spray bottle and lightly mist your hair.
- Rinse the mask out in the shower and give your hair a good shampoo to make sure all of the clay is out.
- Clay masks can be used once per month.
